Raised By The Wrong Wolves
by Chamber Of Vestibules
Now why’d you pour that bong into the ashtray?
Drank my whiskey down in just one sip?
Left in a jacket you did not arrive in?
Would you tell me please, man, what’s your trip?
That bad moon runs away when it sees me comin’
I rise up every morning like a curse
That terror on your trail that’s got you running’?
Dimes to dollars, pal, I’ve seen way worse
Down in the hollow where I was raised
By a lightning-struck stump that blazed for days
We acquired a powerful taste
For the blood of fools
Don’t try to pet me – big mistake
Don’t ever ask me what I ate
I’m not your dog
I was raised by wolves
Now you can change your face and wear disguises
Clean your shoes and even purge your soul
Still your scent will prove there’s no denying
You were raised by the wrong wolves
I travel on a long and twisted highway
Can’t dismount or halt this horse named Hate
He will not take the bit or heed the bridle
Soon enough we’ll ride right through Hell’s gate
Down in the hollow where I was raised
By a lightning-struck stump that blazed for days
We acquired a powerful taste
For the blood of fools
Don’t try to pet me – big mistake
Don’t ever ask me what I ate
I’m not your dog
I was raised by wolves
